While not officially adopted by the US Military, because of his service as a spy, Saint Joshua is known as the patron saint of spies and intelligence officials.

“Joshua was one of the twelve spies Moses sent to reconnoiter the land of Canaan as the Israelites left Egypt on their exodus. Joshua and Caleb were the only two who had confidence in God and would recommended a direct attack. Because of their faith and trust they were exempt from the condemnation of that generation to death in the wilderness. God instructed Moses to lay hands on Joshua to designate him leader to follow him. God commissioned Joshua to lead the Israelites into the promised land and conquer it as well as to distribute the land to the twelve tribes of Israel. The book of Joshua recounts his victories at Jericho, Ai, and other places.”
